Parents for Parents Community Initiative Panel (Lien Foundation 2019)

Sensational Play was honoured to speak at a panel on “Raising Parents to be Effective Advocates for their Children” as part of the Parents for Parents community initiative launched by the Lien Foundation. The campaign aims to impart practical skills for parents, nurture self advocacy and build community resilience. It is held in conjunction with PEEKABOO! I SEE YOU, an inclusive arts festival by Superhero Me in partnership with the Rainbow Centre. Mark and Sue Lim from Sensational Play were featured in an article by The Straits Times in relation to the event.

The Straits Times Article 10 March 2019:

MR MARK LIM, on a ground-up approach having the power to shape society and policies.

"It is about having influence but that need not be done in a top-down way. We need to dare to dream and speak up."

Speech by Indranee Rajah, Second Minister for Education, at Sharity Day 2018

Sensational Play has been supporting Sharity Day, an initiative by the Community Chest of Singapore and organised by the National Council of Social Services, by sponsoring squishy toys to help all participants relieve stress.  In 2018, Sensational Play also assisted in setting up the first-ever Sensory Room for Sharity Day. A Sensory Room is a special room designed and equipped to stimulate all the senses and for all children to relax and relieve stress and anxiety during times when they feel overwhelmed. It was an honour to have our efforts recognised by Guest of Honour Indranee Rajah, Second Minister for Education. You can read her remarks here. The New Age Parents reported on the event here.
